EMPLOYEE EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Effective October 1, 1990, OSHA field inspectors have been formally instructed to review a company's Hearing Conservation Program including:

• Annual education
• Sizing and fitting of hearing protectors
• Determination of the effectiveness of hearing protectors in a given work area

Steen and Associates, Inc. will provide an employee education program which includes a training tape that discusses hearing, the effects of noise on hearing and the proper use of hearing protectors. This videotape covers all aspects listed in the training and employee education section of 29 CFR 1910.95 . In addition, each employee will be sized and be recommended personal hearing protectors which provide appropriate noise attenuation for their work environment.
